FOMC Minutes

Description

FOMC minutes mean the detailed written record of what Fed officials discussed during a policy meeting. In simple terms, minutes show more detail behind the Fed’s decision. FOMC minutes are important because they can reveal how officials debated inflation, jobs, growth, risks, and future policy. Investors use them to understand whether the Fed is becoming more hawkish or dovish. For example, if the minutes show many officials worried about inflation, markets may expect tighter policy for longer. FOMC minutes are not released immediately with the rate decision. They usually come later and provide additional context.
