Nasdaq
Description
Nasdaq is a major U.S. stock exchange where many companies are listed and traded.
In simple terms, Nasdaq is a marketplace where investors buy and sell stocks, especially many technology-related stocks.
Nasdaq is important because it includes many large growth and technology companies, so investors often watch it to understand how the tech sector is performing. When Nasdaq rises, it may suggest strong investor interest in technology and growth stocks.
For example, companies like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, and Tesla are listed on Nasdaq.
Nasdaq is not the same as the Nasdaq Composite. Nasdaq is the exchange, while the Nasdaq Composite is an index that tracks many stocks listed on that exchange.
