Tax
Description
Tax means money that people, businesses, or organizations pay to the government.
In simple terms, tax is money collected by the government to fund public services and programs.
Taxes are important because they help pay for things like roads, schools, healthcare programs, public safety, defense, and government operations. Different taxes can apply to income, purchases, property, business profits, or investments.
For example, if a worker earns income, part of that income may be paid to the government as income tax.
Tax is not the same as a fee. A fee is usually paid for a specific service, while tax is generally collected to support broader public needs.
