Employment
Description
Employment means having a paid job or work.
In simple terms, it shows how many people are working.
Employment is important because jobs give people income, support consumer spending, and help the economy grow. When employment is strong, more people usually have money to spend on goods and services.
For example, if a company hires more workers because demand is rising, employment increases.
Employment is not the same as the unemployment rate. Employment focuses on people who are working, while the unemployment rate focuses on people who are not working but are actively looking for work.
