Job Openings

Description

Job openings mean positions that employers are trying to fill. In simple terms, job openings show how many jobs are available for workers. Job openings are important because they help show labor demand. When job openings are high, employers may be competing for workers, which can support wage growth. When job openings fall, it may suggest that companies are becoming more cautious about hiring. For example, if a restaurant is looking for five cooks and three servers, those eight positions are job openings.
