Services Inflation
Description
Services inflation means prices for services are rising.
In simple terms, it shows that things people pay others to do, such as rent, healthcare, travel, or repairs, are becoming more expensive.
Services inflation is important because it can be more persistent than goods inflation. Many services depend heavily on wages, so rising labor costs can keep services prices elevated.
For example, if medical care, insurance, restaurants, and rent keep getting more expensive, services inflation may remain high.
